今週は、日本語母語話者が間違えやすい文法事項を学びましょう。
今回のテーマは、 ‘discuss’ （話し合う、議論する）の目的語の取り方です。

では早速問題です。
次の4つの文で、正しいものを選んで下さい。
答えは1つとは限りません。

① We discussed on the matter.
② We discussed about the matter.
③ We discussed the matter.
④ We had a discussion on the matter.
⑤ We had a discussion about the matter.
⑥ We had a discussion the matter.

難しかったでしょうか。
正しいのは、
③ We discussed the matter.
④ We had a discussion on the matter.
⑤ We had a discussion about the matter.
の3つです。

S discuss O の時は、前置詞は付けません。
S have a discussion という様に「have ＋ 名詞」の形にする時は、前置詞 on や about を取ります。

このような前置詞の要不要は、ただひたすら暗記しようとしても、難しいと思います。
たくさん言って・書いて、自然と正しい使い方ができるようになりましょう！
